CALGARY, AB, CANADA – November 9, 2017 – Canadian Discovery Ltd. (CDL) and Sproule are pleased to announce a new strategic partnership to deliver a joint energy solution designed to leverage CDL’s geologic and technology expertise and Sproule’s new engineering analysis.
With a strong track record for building industry premiere datasets, CDL is the partner of choice for delivering and marketing Sproule’s new Play Metrics analysis through their play evaluation platform, Catalyst. Play Metrics is Sproule’s expert opinion of production profiles and economic parameters for the key resources plays across Western Canada. The combination of CDL’s fast, intuitive online platform and Sproule’s analytics will enable the industry to dramatically reduce the time spent and increase the accuracy of identifying new resource opportunities across Western Canada.
According to Steven Golko, Sproule’s Vice President of New Ventures, “the industry is settling into a new reality as commodity prices stabilize. We need to support our industry and attract the right investment for the right opportunities.” This is why Sproule’s consulting experts developed Play Metrics. “Many of our clients had requested this type of information from us in the past and based on their feedback we decided it was time to commercialize our efforts and distribute this information to a larger segment of the market. As part of this partnership, Sproule’s Play Metrics analysis leverages CDL’s geological expertise to more accurately define reservoir boundaries based on their extensive experience. For CDL, this partnership offers the opportunity to expand the content currently offered through its Catalyst platform. “We’ve spent over a year refining the platform to provide a simple and elegant user interface and integrate niche, high value content to set us apart from other data providers. Sproule’s Play Metrics analysis was a perfect fit for what we’re trying to achieve, which is to build a new industry standard database to help the market assess resource plays,” says Kaush Rakhit, CEO of CDL.
