The Position

Sproule’s geothermal operations team offers various well and production-related services for producing assets and development projects. In your role, you will work alongside multiple disciplines within the team (incl. external contractors) to lead and coordinate a part of these well-related services.

Apart from projects within the operations team, you will also support geothermal consultancy projects with technical support and possibly also in a project leader position. This role acts as an integral part of the team and contributes to enabling our clients to make critical decisions and support them with safe and reliable delivery of geothermal operations.

Responsibilities

Project management of well operations (Drilling, Workovers, Interventions)

  • HSE and risk management
  • Engineering
  • Procurement

Advisory projects (including but not limited to geothermal feasibilities studies, due diligence for transactions for the geothermal sector and strategy advisory for geothermal development strategies

  • Perform and/or lead technical reviews and audits on project plans and ongoing operations.
  • Well economics, including budget preparation, AFE allocation, cost tracking and financial reviews.
  • Identifying process efficiencies and optimizing operational activity through standardization where appropriate.
  • Provide technical expertise to support in critical decision making.

Client engagement

  • As a senior member of the geothermal team, you will be client-facing and facilitating some of the processes, including project scoping meetings, proposal writing and participation in industry events.
  • Leadership and mentoring responsibilities to the broader team.

Required Technical Qualifications & Experience

  • Education in relevant Engineering Masters (Petroleum, Process engineering or equivalent)
  • 8+ years of experience within an oil and gas / geothermal operator or service company setting with a core focus on wells, drilling or production engineering.
  • Familiarity with engineering criteria associated with well construction, intervention, and operations planning.
  • Sound understanding of well control practices (IWCF Level 4 or equivalent an asset)
  • Experience in a consultancy environment in a client-facing role would be viewed as an advantage.
