The Position

Sproule is searching for a motivated professional to join our team in Voorburg, The Netherlands. This role involves two important responsibilities.

  • Commercial Role: You’ll be part of our business development team, helping with proposal and tender preparations, market analysis, and creating marketing materials. Your main focus will be on the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region, but your work will impact our global operations.
  • Administrative Role: You’ll help with preparing technical reports and handling invoicing processes. While you’ll mainly support our Netherlands office, your work will be crucial for our different business units and departments

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Market Engagement: Regularly monitor client and potential client procurement portals for bid opportunities, ensuring Sproule is at the forefront of new projects and collaborations.
  • Proposal Development: Take an active role in the crafting of compelling proposals across the EMEA region and beyond. This involves meticulous editing, formatting, and the management and compilation of materials, ensuring high-quality submissions.
  • Client Portal Management: Maintain Sproule’s presence and registration within various client portals/systems, ensuring seamless access and participation in bid opportunities.
  • CRM Administration: Assist in the effective administration of the Client Relationship Management (CRM) software, under the guidance of the business development team, to enhance client engagement strategies.
  • Marketing: Supporting marketing initiatives in coordination with corporate marketing, preparing material such as presentations, brochures, etc., in alignment with our brand and strategic objectives.
  • Invoicing Coordination: Work closely with Project Leaders and the finance team to coordinate invoicing details, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in billing processes.
  • Financial Collaboration: Partner with the Finance team to generate and manage invoices for clients in the EMEA region, adhering to both national and company standards. This includes preparing invoices in English or Dutch and submitting client invoices directly or through client portals.
  • Agreement Management: Proactively manage existing multi-year frame agreements to ensure timely tariff increases, renewals, and extensions, safeguarding Sproule’s interests and continuity of business.
  • Administrative Documentation: Collaborate with Records Management to maintain an efficient and effective administrative documentation and filing system.
  • Administration Support: Facilitate administration liaison between Dutch stakeholders and the Calgary head office team. Support the geothermal operations team with secondment, hotel booking, and administration.
  • Additional duties as required.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • HBO-WO Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in Business, Finance, Administration.
  • 3-5 years related experience in a similar role an asset.
  • Experience working with energy companies is a plus.
  • Previous inside sales experience or experience supporting a business development team or preparing/presenting bid rounds for national companies or governments is an asset.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Pro.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new software and applications.
  • Must be bilingual (Dutch-English).
