This 2-day course is an introduction to the technical issues related to Canadian heavy oil and oil sands assets, as well as their future development. By the end of this course, participants will be able to fully understand the exploration and exploitation strategies employed by industry to develop these resources. Surface mining and several in-situ recovery mechanisms are discussed. The course lecture material is supported by an asset life cycle case study.
