Sproule Strengthens Board with a New Independent Director
CALGARY, Canada – January 25 2023 – Sproule is pleased to announce the appointment of a new individual to the board of directors, bringing the number of board members to five. New board member Sheila Leggett brings deep experience as an entrepreneur, advisor, and board member in the environmental management space and broader energy market. Sheila provides a combination of executive oversight experience, and governance expertise. In addition, she offers strategic and regulatory perspectives in the energy industry, viewed through a risk management lens.

Sheila has worked at the intersection of energy and the environment throughout her career and serves on various corporate, not-for-profit and government agency boards. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology from McGill University and a master’s degree in Biology from the University of Calgary. She also has the ICD.D. designation from the ICD-Rotman Director’s education program.
Sheila is a Senior Fellow with the CD Howe Institute and was an inaugural member of the Calgary Regional Ambassador Council for Women Get on Board. She is currently the Chair of the International Standards Organization Committee responsible for the ISO 14000 environmental management standards, the Board Chair for Cielo Waste Solutions Corp. (CMC.V), and the Advisory Board for Nutana Power Ltd.
