DOB Exclusive: Reserve Reporting Practices, Capital Plans Continue To ‘Transition’ Away From A Growth Focus
According to an article published recently in the DOB “many oil and gas producers continue to evolve their reserve generation and reporting strategies from demonstrating pure growth to showing a more sustainable approach to operations in an effort to reflect changing shareholder expectations.” Liam O’Brien, a market analyst with Sproule Associates Limited, provides insights on this topic saying he agrees that “most producers are now more inclined to execute cautious capital programs with an eye toward replacing production and trying to stay flat as opposed to a focus on growing reserves year-over-year.”
