The Position
Sproule is seeking an energetic, self-motivated Joint Venture Accounting Analyst to join our Asset Management team. The position is scheduled as full-time with benefits; however, we will consider a senior level candidate seeking flexibility with part-time minimum 25 hours per week (100 hours per month) availability. Sproule offers a hybrid work environment consideration for this position after 3 months.
The intermediate to senior level Joint Venture Accounting Analyst is responsible for all duties related to operated and non-operated joint venture accounting and communications over Energy Link and downloading Joint Interest Billings (JIBs) to the accounting system.
Position Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Manager JV Accounting, the Joint Venture Accounting Analyst will complete the following tasks for assigned clients:
- Analyze, respond to, and download joint interest billings (JIBs), lease rental and road use invoices through Energy Link
- Track and manually book non-operated partner invoices not on Energy Link
- Troubleshoot and investigate issues related to incoming JIBs
- Review equalizations for reasonability
- Set up appropriate proration spreadsheets in conjunction with production accounting schematics
- Distribute invoices for approvals in a timely manner to meet accounting deadlines
- Process accounting corrections as required
- Setup/control/correct coding tables on Energy Link
- Document conversations and issues through Energy Link
- Resolve operated and non-op disputes and conversations on Energy Link
- Communicate with partners, responding to queries, sharing information through Energy Link
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma
- Accounting Certificate/Diploma an asset
- 5-7 years of oil and gas accounting experience
- 3-5 years of joint venture accounting experience
- Working knowledge of Energylink, plus Pandell JVNexus/Qbyte, Petrinex and Accumap/GeoScout
- Intermediate level proficiency with MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
