The Position

Sproule is seeking an intermediate level Petroleum Engineer to join our team in our Mexico City office. As part of our continued international growth strategy, Sproule opened an office in Mexico City in 2017 to serve the local and international markets.

In this role, you will support our expanding global network of offices located in Calgary, Denver, Bakersfield, Mexico City and The Hague. You will have  the opportunity to build upon your reservoir engineering experience with exposure to a broad range of clients including exploration and production companies, financial firms and governments throughout the world.


As a member of the global Sproule Consulting Services team, Petroleum Engineer responsibilities include:

  • Working with clients worldwide
  • Working both independently and within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Working with highly experienced senior engineers, geologists and geophysicists to support reserve evaluation projects and reservoir studies, including project scoping and analysis
  • Overseeing project scope and timelines within a reserves evaluation team
  • Providing mentoring or coaching to junior staff in the Mexico office
  • Performing some administrative tasks related to the operations of the Mexico City office

Preferred Qualifications & Experience
    • 7 to 10 years of related experience with preference to oil and gas evaluations experience
    • Post secondary degree in petroleum engineering
    • Experience with PRMS and/or NI 51-101 reserves definitions
    • Strong computer and program literacy in industry software such as ValNav, MOSAIC and PEEP
